I am one of those odd people who was born talking with God. For as far back as I can remember, I could hear Him. Not a big booming, movie-trailer voice, just a quiet thought, clearly not my own, that would show up right when I needed it and remind me how much He loved me. I thought everyone had this, until eighth grade, when a girlfriend of mine got into some trouble and I asked her what God said about it. She looked at me like I had three heads. And I walked away realizing not everyone was hearing what I was hearing.
I had that closeness until I was about fourteen. Then I was abused, and I put God on the back burner for many years. He was still there. He never left. But He was no longer my focus, and I went off to explore other things.
Then COVID came. I looked at the world, at how frightening and unsteady everything had become, and I knew I needed God front and center again. I knelt down and asked Him to give me the guidance I needed, to take the scales from my eyes and lead me to the Truth. And He did. I spent the next year back in scripture, back in prayer, back in fellowship.
And in that year, this program emerged. Because what I discovered was that the way I related to God, the way I had been hearing Him my whole life, worked for other people too. For more than twenty years I had been teaching a physical guidance system I call the Internal Guidance System®, the openings and closings you feel in your own body. And I came to understand that the guidance I had been teaching all along was the Holy Spirit. You were born with it. You have simply never been shown how to feel it.

Not with a church. Not with a Bible study. Not with getting your life cleaned up first. You start with God, and then you let Him lead you to the rest. To the right church, if that is where He points you. To the right passages in your Bible. To the right people, the right decisions, the right next step. When you begin with God and learn to hear Him, He leads you to everything else, in the right order, in the right timing, for you.
Most of us were taught to do it backwards. Find the church first. Learn the rules first. Become worthy first. And then, maybe, God. No wonder it has felt so hard. You were told to arrive before you were allowed to come home.
But you do not have to get cleaned up to take a shower, do you? You do not fix yourself and then go to God. You go to God, and the connection with Him is the very thing that gets you through the pain, the hurt, and the struggle. You start with Him, exactly as you are, and you let Him do the leading.
Who I Am

One of the biggest things I have learned in my own relationship with God is that we make this so much more complicated than it needs to be. We think we need to know more, do more, pray better, study harder, and become better before God will meet us.
God did not put up a bunch of hoops. It says in the Bible that the kingdom of God is within you. He dwells in you, always, from the beginning of your life to the end. Not only when you are good. Not only when you are at church. Always. There is no separation and nothing to qualify for first.
So what keeps us from feeling Him? Our thinking. The fear, the worry, the noise, the old beliefs running through our minds. God has not moved. The noise has simply gotten loud enough to drown Him out.
For more than twenty years I have taught over forty thousand people to recognize a physical guidance system inside them, the openings and closings you feel in your body. What I came to understand is that this guidance I had been teaching all along is the Holy Spirit. This is how you recognize His presence, hear His leading, and know it. Not trusting your gut. Not following your feelings. Learning to recognize the still small voice through the guidance God built into you.
That is why this works when other things have not. We do not add more information on top of a noisy mind. We quiet the mind so you can feel the God who was there the whole time.
And It Is Simple

“I need to get my life together first.”
No. That is exactly when you need God. You do not clean everything up and then come to Him. You bring Him into the middle of it, the messy relationship, the fear, the unanswered question, the thing you regret. You start there. You do not need to shower before you feel the presence of God. Start with God, and let Him lead you to what to tend to, and when.
“I never finish these things.”
Neither do a lot of people, which is exactly why this is not a giant course. It is seven days. One short video, one simple practice. Do today’s video today, and do not worry about Day Seven. “I don’t believe I can hear God.”
